Parts Desk Insights

Best use case: The 8WD7S is the right choice for a permanent swivel installation where you want rotation without the added cost or complexity of a quick-release system. Its commonly used on fishing boats to allow the angler to rotate toward the action without leaving the seat, and on helm stations where the operator needs to face aft for docking. If you regularly remove the seat for storage or to free up deck space, the 8WD7SQR with quick-release bracket is the better option. Confirm your seat base mounting pattern is compatible with a 7″ swivel plate before ordering.
