3M Hookit 8-Inch Foam Compounding Pad

The 3M Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pad is a foam compounding pad for refining sand scratches, slow-speed polishing, and denibbing. Its foam face pattern gives more surface contact and holds compound to reduce slinging.

This 8-inch single-sided pad uses the 3M Hookit hook-and-loop system for quick, easy change-outs on rotary polishers. Foam pads are generally less aggressive than wool pads and produce a finer finish, making them suited to the critical compounding stages of paint refinishing.

It’s designed for use with cured, hard, or medium finish paint, denibbing, scratch removal, and refining P1200 or finer sand scratches, including in confined spaces. This pad is part of the 3M Perfect-It Paint Finishing System, which uses a progressive series of abrasives, compounding, and polishing pads to build a finished, glossy paint surface.
