Parts Desk Insights

Best Use Case: The Mag 5ST is the ideal choice for dedicated Great Lakes trollers running 24 rods who want reliable automatic depth control without stepping up to a top-tier unit. Short Stop is a genuine game-changer on rough water days it eliminates the risk of a swinging weight cracking your gunwale when you’re focused on the rods. Positive Ion Control is particularly valued by salmon anglers who troll in clear, deep water where every edge counts.

Weight Capacity: The 20 lb. capacity comfortably handles standard 1015 lb. cannonball weights. For anglers running heavier weights in strong currents or very deep water, consider the Cannon Mag 10 STX for additional capacity.

Cable: Comes pre-spooled with 250 ft. of 150 lb. test stainless steel cable ready to fish out of the box. Replacement cable is available; contact us for compatible options.
