The Garmin GSD 24 is a remote sonar module that brings professional-grade, high-definition sonar imaging to compatible Garmin chartplotters. With up to 2,000 watts of transmit power and a high-dynamic-range receiver, it delivers exceptional target definition and bottom detection at depths up to 5,000 ft (1,500 m) well beyond what integrated sonar units can achieve.
Designed to work with Garmin GPSMAP chartplotters that support the Garmin Marine Network, including the GPSMAP 8610XSV and GPSMAP 8612XSV. A compatible transducer is required and sold separately. Verify network and transducer port compatibility with your specific chartplotter before ordering.
Best Use Case: The GSD 24 is built for offshore sportfishing, deep-sea bottom fishing, and commercial applications where depth, target separation, and sonar power matter most. It’s the right choice when your chartplotter’s built-in sonar isn’t powerful enough for the depths you’re fishing, or when you want to share a single high-power sonar source across multiple displays on a larger vessel. It pairs particularly well with high-frequency Airmar transducers for deep-water performance.
Transducer Required: The GSD 24 does not include a transducer. A compatible transducer must be purchased separately. Consult your Garmin chartplotter documentation and the GSD 24 installation manual to select the correct transducer for your application and hull type.
Installation Note: The GSD 24 is a black-box module that requires installation in a protected, ventilated location. Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance and network configuration.
