The monitor includes its standard 500A shunt.Why add a battery monitor?Battery voltage alone does not give you the full picture of how much usable charge remains. The BMV-712 measures current flowing into and out of the battery through its shunt, then calculates information such as state of charge, consumed amp-hours and estimated time remaining. You can check the readings on the display or on your phone using Victron Connect.Smart charging when mains power is availableThe Blue Smart IP22 charger provides adaptive charging for the battery. Its built-in Bluetooth lets you view charging information and adjust settings in Victron Connect. The supplied 12/20(1) version has one battery output and a maximum charging current of 20A. An inverter is required if you want to run 230V appliances from the battery.Can I see the battery level on my phone?Yes. The BMV-712 Smart connects to the Victron Connect app via Bluetooth. The phone shown in product imagery illustrates the app and is not included in the bundle.Are installation cables and protection included?The BMV-712 includes its standard shunt and monitor cables.
