The engine-side half of a Mercury clip-type fuel line connection. The Scepter 05791 snaps directly into the engines fuel inlet port and seals with an o-ring to keep the fuel flowing and the connection secure built to OEM specifications for a straightforward, reliable replacement.
Use this fitting when the engine-side clip connector on a Mercury fuel line is damaged, leaking, or no longer locking in securely. Its designed specifically for the engine end of Mercury clip-type fuel systems. For the matching tank-side clip fitting that completes the assembly, pair with the Scepter 05793 Mercury Tank Clip Fitting. If you need an updated Mercury tank clip, also see the Scepter 05837 Mercury Tank Clip Fitting.
Not for use in potable water systems.
The 05791 is the engine-side clip fitting; the tank-side match is the Scepter 05793. Before ordering, confirm the customer has a clip-type Mercury system not a bayonet-type. Bayonet systems use different fittings entirely: for the tank side see the Scepter 07497 Mercury Tank Bayonet Fitting, and for the engine side see the Scepter 09476 Mercury Engine Bayonet Fitting. An updated tank-side clip fitting is also available as the Scepter 05837 worth checking if the customers engine year calls for the newer part. Mercury fittings are not interchangeable with Yamaha or BRP connectors.
