Cannon 8 lb Flash Weight Downrigger Trolling Weight

Cannon 8 lb Flash Weight Lightweight Depth Control with Built-In Attraction

The Cannon Flash Weight brings together reliable depth control and built-in fish attraction in a single, well-engineered trolling weight. The integrated flashing prism adds a visual trigger near your lure spread, while the keeled body keeps the weight running straight and stable at trolling speeds no cable twist, no tangled rigs.

At 8 lbs, this is the lightest weight in the Cannon Flash series, making it the right choice for shallower trolling depths, lighter downrigger setups, or situations where you want to minimize drag without sacrificing the flash advantage.

Key Features

• Flashing prism design adds visual attraction to draw fish toward your spread
• Keeled body tracks accurately at trolling speeds and prevents cable twisting
• Black vinyl coating for corrosion resistance and long-term durability
• 8 lb weight for lighter-duty depth control and shallower trolling applications
• Compatible with Cannon downrigger systems and most standard cable setups

Best Use Cases

• Shallower freshwater trolling for salmon, trout, and walleye where less weight is needed
• Lighter downrigger booms or entry-level units with lower weight ratings
• Anglers who want the prism flash advantage without the added drag of a heavier weight
• Secondary or outboard rod positions where a lighter weight keeps the spread clean

Parts Desk Insights

• The 8 lb Flash Weight is the best fit for anglers running lighter or older downrigger units where a 1012 lb weight would push the booms limits.
• If youre fishing shallower water (under 6080 feet) at moderate trolling speeds, 8 lbs is often all you need and the reduced drag makes boat handling easier.
• The Flash series prism is a genuine differentiator in clear water or when fish are following but not committing worth trying before switching lures.
• Check your downrigger cable terminal and snap ratings before installing; even at 8 lbs, worn hardware should be replaced at the same time.
